In addition to an extensive study program, the Munich Business School also offers numerous possibilities to become involved beyond the university. The list of student initiatives is long and even includes sports. One of the favorite events is the “Wintertrophy”. Every spring, the “Wintertrophy” team organizes a winter sport weekend in the Alps for students from different colleges in Germany and other European countries. The goal of the event is to promote communicative exchange among students.
In addition to different competitions in the snow, with which both every individual and the colleges are able to match up as a team, fun and excitement are naturally also on the agenda. The Wintertrophy, which took place in 2008 for the sixth time, has now become the largest winter sporting event of all business colleges in Germany. More than 140 students from some one dozen universities took part, including colleges from Italy, Sweden and France. The event was sponsored by O2 and Rhinos.
Teamwork, marketing, finance, law – many aspects play a role with such a project and remain more than just pure theory. “The effort and commitment are rewarded in that the result can be seen in the end and thanks are received from the many enthusiastic participants,” says Sandra Pfaffenberger, one of the main organizers in their 6th semester. “It pays off to get such an event going. The Wintertrophy is the optimal way for those who like organizing and planning to transform ideas into practice.”
