Focus on Health Care Management
The program of the MBA program in Health Care Management is structured into four areas of competence in which the students attend mandatory and elective courses.
General Management
In the courses of the business core field, such as for example finance and marketing, the students primarily deal with the practice oriented and interdisciplinary view of business management in the sense of general management. In applications the healthcare institutions and companies always take centre stage.
Health Care Management
Legal, organisational, information or management rules, methods, systems and instruments specifically for business and institutions in healthcare are taught and expanded upon related to application. A management knowledge geared toward the specialties in healthcare companies is developed. Special attention is paid to the analysis of intra-corporate and overall organizational processes (e.g. treatment paths, logistics systems, supply systems). In addition, the students are given the opportunity to handle or expand upon current field specific topics from a business perspective.
Individual Competencies
The students' individual methodical and people skills are advanced and complemented. This is intended to support students in handling professional, private and study related stresses. The alumni are to be prepared for the demands placed on managers internally and in external conflicts, as well as being able to better apply their own productivity and creativity potentials.
International Week
Following the international profile of Munich Business School, the participants are also offered a broader insight into the practice of healthcare management and of healthcare systems in other countries. For this reason the program includes a one-week stay at the Boston University School of Management, during which also institutes of the American healthcare system are visited.
