New Ranking: Munich Business School - From Insider’s Tip to Leading Brand

Munich Business School’s growing profile has had an effect on its position in the joint University Ranking of the „Wirtschaftswoche“ and „Handelsblatt Junge Karriere“ magazines. In this survey among more than 500 HR-managers, MBS came in the Top 10 universities for business studies in Germany. This result exceeds all expectations, as MBS is a compact institution that emphasises quality over quantity.

The joint University Ranking of the „Wirtschaftswoche“ and „Handelsblatt Junge Karriere“ magazines is based on the judgement of over 500 HR-managers throughout Germany. To come in the Top 10 for such a survey is an outstanding result for MBS: As a still relatively young and growing university, MBS is significantly smaller than most of its competitors, which means that it has fewer graduates annually than other institutions. The fact that so many HR-managers have a positive impression of MBS speaks volumes for the quality of the study programmes and the competence of the graduates.

Moreover, 60 to 80 per cent of our graduates do not apply to HR departments at all as they receive job offers from companies while still completing their studies. In this sense they do not enter the job market at all initially – something many of today’s graduates could only dream of.

Taking into account that the Munich Business School has only existed under this title since 2003, its graduates can only have been connected to this name for five years. This underlines the fine reputation that the Munich Business School and its graduates enjoy among HR-managers in Germany.
When analysing important selection criteria for job candidates it becomes clear why companies’ HR-managers hold us in such high esteem:  Most HR-managers mention the candidates’ personality (87 per cent), their practical experience (71 per cent) and a good level of English (57 per cent) as the most important.  Hence, the structure of the study programmes at Munich Business School, with their focus on personality development, practice-orientation and an international outlook, correspond exactly to the requirements of HR decision-makers.
