GERMAN SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE

Hochschulreife / Fachhochschulreife or the Austrian Matura


NO GERMAN SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE

Option 1:
Provide all of the following:

  • Certified copy of your secondary school leaving certificate that entitles you to enter higher education in your home country
  • Relevant list(s) of individual grades scored
  • Certified copy of an unconditional acceptance by a foreign university (e.g. in your home country) for a business study program.

Option 2: 
Certified copy of your secondary school leaving certificate and verification of your proof of education by the Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle (a state office responsible for academic recognition) in Munich.

Language Skills

  • TOEFL (IBT): 88 (min. 20 in all sections, min. 22 in Writing)
    alternatively: IELTS min. level 6.5 - Academic Module
  • English schooling

Most courses of the German Track are in German. Therefore students of the Bachelor German Track have to prove their German language proficiency by

  • being a native speaker or
  • German schooling or
  • TestDaF level 4 or higher (alternatively: DSH Certificate 2 or ZMP Zentrale Mittel-stufenprüfung)

  • TOEFL (IBT): 93 (min. 20 in all sections, min. 22 in Writing)
    alternatively: IELTS min. level 7.0 - Academic Module
  • English schooling

German language skills level A 1.1. are required for the English Track.

For students with no or very little German skills MBS offers a preparatory two-week German Intensive Language Course.

Additional German language courses will be provided in the program.

Students in the English Track wishing to participate in a international option other than German and Western European Business Studies have to prove their German language proficiency by

  • being a native speaker or
  • German schooling or
  • TestDaF level 4 or higher (alternatively: DSH Certificate 2 or ZMP Zentrale Mittel-stufenprüfung)

Test results can only be accepted if achieved within the last two years.

If you can't get a test date before your interview, you can hand your test results in afterwards until one month before the program start.

The MBS TOEFL Institution Code is 5772.

MBS Requirements

  • Letter of Motivation (1‐2 Pages)

  • Recent Passport Size Photograph (Professional, in Color with Light Background)
  • References (if available)

Additional Requirements for Internationals

International students must meet visa and health insurance requirements in addition to the general admission requirements. Please see "Information for Internationals" for further information.

Application Fee

Proof of Payment: EUR 90 (non-refundable). Pay application fee.

Admission Test

All applicants in Germany or those who can come to Germany, have to take part in one of  our internal admission test:

Start September 2012

  • Round 1: Nov 18/19
  • Round 2: February 17/18
  • Round 3: April 13/14
  • Round 4: June 1/2

All applicants outside Germany or those who cannot come to Germany for the internal MBS admission test have to

  • submit SAT results of at least 1720 or the TestAS
  • take part in a video conference / telephone interview (e.g. via skype)
