Two international weeks at SDA Bocconi and Singapore Management University add to the international perspective of the program.

Singapore Management University

Sample topics covered in former sessions of the international week in Singapore are:

  • Asia Pacific Economics – examines Asian Pacific countries and their efforts to build and restore their respective economies within the aftermath of the Asian currency crisis. China, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan are focused.
  • The New global Economy – focuses on Asian countries and the competition in every possible area of services such as airport and high tech industrial parks and its affect on an enlarging market.
  • Managing IT – examines technology investments in a company and how technology choice can affect business.
  • Business Innovations – designed to prepare participants to identify business innovations resulting from technology innovations that create both new revenue and cost savings.

The course modules are supported by company visits. Visits in the past include  Asian Pacific Breweries and PSA International Pte Ltd.

SDA Bocconi

Sample topics covered in the international week at SDA Bocconi are:

  • Global Strategies – discusses the key motives for the internationalization of a company and how to create a sustainable competitive advantage on the international markets.
  • Competition among Countries – defines what the international competitiveness of a country is and how to measure it. Moreover, it defines the key drivers that can contribute to the improvement of a country’s competitiveness.
  • Inside Cultural Heritage: A Driver for Economic and Social Growth - examines cultural heritage and how cultural heritage can positively impact the economic and social growth as well as certain industries.
  • Italy inside the European Community – is dedicated to the discussion of the key features of the Italian economy, its strengths and weaknesses, the introduction to the business ethic issues and the key issues related to the EU current and future.

Lectures are supplemented with case studies and company visits. Companies visited in the past have included Inter Milan and a visit to a cheese producing farm in the Parma region.
