Course Objectives

When completing the program Certified Reporting Professional

  • you master the requirements for content, design and processes of effective reporting;
  • know the main formulas and functions of Microsoft Excel which are important for the creation of business reports,
  • will have acquired at least basic knowledge of macro-programming to further increase efficiency in reporting,
  • will be able to design perception-optimized graphics and dashboards.

The comprehensive program Certified Reporting Professional can be adjusted to your situation thanks to two options:

Option 1: You can choose the nine-day program with the option “Professional Visualization with Excel” which will take place in a conference hotel for two days. In total, your personalized workshop will comprise of 9 days of face-to-face training. 


Option 2: The other option is to choose the online course “Interactive Excel Dashboards” which is an online training conducted in English. The contents are taught in individual study packs by videos, scripts, case studies etc. and can be completed in self-study accompanying the program. The total duration of the webcasts is about 10 hours. In addition, there will be an online Q&A session with our trainer Leila Gharani. This option comprises of 7 days face-to-face training and you will have access to online training.

To convey the contents, the following didactic methods are used by experienced lecturers from practice:

In this course you acquire the specific usage of Excel 2016 in economics which will assist your work as a controller. You learn to make the most out of the extensive functions of the program and thereby simplify your work processes significantly.

Data modeling and Visualization with Power BI (08.10. - 09.10.2020)

Objective:

In this course you will learn to use Microsoft Power BI for data modeling, determination of key figures, interactive visualization and for mobile dashboarding. Learn how Power BI can be used for the spontaneous visualization of distribution and HR data and how potential foreknowledge of Excel Power Query and Excel Power Pivot can be used intensively and even expanded. The acquired knowledge can then be applied to numerous other areas of your daily controlling practice.

Part 1: Introduction

  • What is BI Power and what components does it consist of?
  • How can BI Power be compared to Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot and SQL Server?

Part 2: Basics of analytic data modeling

  • Import of fact and dimension tables and assignment with the integrated data model

Part 3: Introduction to DAX formula expression language

Reporting Power Camp (17.12.2020)

Objective:

Based on the knowledge acquired in this course you will be able to implement your new knowledge in your own project in your company. You create your report “masterpiece” and submit it as your final project of the course. The jury of the controller institute consists of practitioners and researchers. You receive feedback, tips and further coaching.

Structure and Contents:

“Masterpiece”

  • You create a sample report based on your acquired technical and conceptual knowledge from the seminar. Thereby you can further develop already existing reports of your company or create a new one.
  • The report is submitted prior to the Power Camp to the jury of the Controller Institute.

Presentation and discussion

  • You present your “masterpiece” on site to the jury members. You receive detailed feedback and tips for further improvement.
