Die w\u00e4hrend der Ming Dynastie verfasste Geschichte \u00fcber den \u201eK\u00f6nig der Affen\u201c, der sich zusammen mit einem M\u00f6nch in Richtung Indien aufmacht, um die heiligen Schriften Buddhas nach China zu bringen, kennt in China jedes Kind. Fast ebenso bekannt d\u00fcrfte die Geschichte des Holzf\u00e4llers Alibaba sein, dem Namensgeber des bekanntesten Internet-Unternehmens Chinas, der <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alibabagroup.com\/en\/global\/home\" target=\"_blank\">Alibaba Group<\/a> (\u963f\u91cc\u5df4\u5df4\u96c6\u56e2). F\u00fcr die Alibaba Group wird die Reise in den Westen durch den B\u00f6rsengang an der New York Stock Exchange in den kommenden Wochen einen vorl\u00e4ufigen H\u00f6hepunkt erreichen.<\/p>\n<p>Alibaba ist ein Unternehmen mit einer besonders starken Unternehmenskultur, welche durch den ausgesprochen charismatischen Gr\u00fcnder Jack Ma (\u9a6c\u4e91, h\u00e4lt 8,9% der Anteile) gepr\u00e4gt wird. Seine Maxime beim Aufbau der Alibaba Group lautete immer \u201eCustomers first, Employees second, and Shareholders third\u201c. Der Wert des Unternehmens Alibaba wird heute je nach Quelle auf 133 bis 200 Milliarden US$ gesch\u00e4tzt.<\/p>\n<p>Das h\u00e4ufig f\u00e4lschlicherweise als \u201eAmazon Chinas\u201c bezeichnete Unternehmen startete 1999 als B2B-Website mit dem Ziel, chinesische Produzenten und westliche Eink\u00e4ufer zu verkn\u00fcpfen. Heute betreibt die Alibaba Group eine Vielfalt von Plattformen, wie zum Beispiel Taobao Marketplace (\u6dd8\u5b9d\u7f51, \u00e4hnlich ebay), Tmall.com (\u5929\u732b, B2C Online Shopping Mall mit zahlreichen Markenshops), AliExpress (\u963f\u91cc\u5df4\u5df4\u5168\u7403\u901f\u5356\u901a, weltweiter B2B und B2C Online Shop) und diverse weitere.<\/p>\n<p>Nach eigenen Angaben hat Alibaba \u00fcber 230 Millionen aktive Kunden, die jedes Jahr 11,3 Milliarden Bestellungen aufgeben. Dies resultierte 2013 in einem Umsatz in H\u00f6he von 5,35 Milliarden und einem Gewinn von 2,72 Milliarden Euro. \u00dcber seine (ausgegr\u00fcndete) Bezahlplattform AliPay (\u652f\u4ed8\u5b9d), die auch von anderen Plattformen genutzt werden kann und dem amerikanischen PayPal \u00e4hnelt, wickelte Alibaba allein 2013 519 Milliarden US$ ab.<\/p>\n<p>Nachdem die Verhandlungen mit der B\u00f6rse in Hongkong an der Shareholder-Struktur von Alibaba gescheitert waren, w\u00e4hlt das Unternehmen nun den Weg an die B\u00f6rse in New York. Nicht nur finanziell wird Alibaba vom B\u00f6rsengang profitieren. Vielmehr steigert Alibaba durch den Gang an die NYSE seine Bekanntheit au\u00dferhalb Chinas. Dies wird vor allem Aliexpress zugutekommen, das zu einem globalen Online-Shop ausgebaut werden soll\u2013 und das so zu einem gro\u00dfen Wettbewerber von Amazon werden k\u00f6nnte.
