Alfred Gossner as its new President. Rudolf Gr\u00f6ger, passed away unexpectedly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted that we have been able to win over such a renowned personality as our new President. He fulfills our demanding profile of requirements perfectly with his many years of experience in science, his successful career in the international management, and his extensive network of contacts. We are looking forward to working with him,\u201d says Prof. Dr. Stefan Baldi, Dean of Munich Business School.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very thankful for the trust that has been placed in me and am looking forward to the challenges which are waiting for me in my new position. We will be working together on leading MBS into a successful future,\u201d says Dr. Gossner. Since his contract with the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft runs until February 2019, he has asked them to terminate it as of the end of 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Gossner has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft e.V. since 2002, where he is responsible for the areas of finance, controlling and IT. Before then, he had worked in the international management for almost 20 years, 16 of which he spent with insurance company Allianz, where, amongst other things, he was CEO of South Africa and Namibia, Chairman of the Management Board for northern Germany, and Member of the Management Board of Allianz Versicherungs-AG.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Gossner studied economic sciences, econometrics and politics at Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich (LMU) and at University of Lancaster. He also has a degree in philosophy from Munich School of Philosophy. After post-graduate studies at University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, he earned a doctorate in economics at LMU. In 2010, he was appointed Professor Extraordinary at the Business School of renowned Stellenbosch University in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his main occupation, Dr. Gossner also holds several mandates in supervisory boards and councils, is a Member of the Executive Committee of the Global Research Alliance, and is on the Board of Trustees of the \u201cSponsors and Friends of the Bavarian State Library\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>The Senate of Munich Business School has unanimously elected Dr. rer. pol.
