Germany’s Best Universities: Munich Business School Achieves Top Results in the CHE University Ranking

In the latest CHE University Ranking 2026/27, Munich Business School ranks among the top institutions. With this top rating, the school once again confirms its position as one of the leading private business schools in Germany.

The university ranking by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) is the most comprehensive comparison of universities in the German-speaking world. It has been published exclusively in the ZEIT Study Guide and on the HeyStudium platform for more than two decades. In the current ranking, bachelor’s programs in business administration were evaluated based on student reviews and a variety of fact-based criteria. These include, among other things, international orientation, connections to professional practice, and the organization of the program.

From the students’ perspective, Munich Business School (MBS) demonstrated particular strengths: In 10 out of 12 student evaluations, MBS ranks among the top institutions. This includes key areas such as the overall academic environment and academic support. MBS also achieved top scores in all four fact-based criteria related to the academic program.

International focus and practical relevance as cornerstones

The strengths of MBS, as highlighted by the CHE University Ranking, are no accident. Rather, they are the result of an educational model that has been consistently refined since the university’s founding in 1991: internationally oriented, closely integrated with the business community, and offering personalized support. With over 70 partner universities worldwide, integrated study abroad semesters, and a teaching concept that combines theory and practice, MBS creates a learning environment that prepares graduates for the globalized job market.

These strengths are complemented by structured support starting from the very first semester. The top ranking in the “Support at the Start of Studies” category underscores that MBS views the transition to college as a critical phase and invests accordingly—through orientation programs, mentoring, and a culture of personalized support that is structurally embedded in a small college like MBS.

Consistent excellence in a highly competitive environment

The results of the 2026/27 CHE University Ranking are the latest in a series of accolades that MBS has received at the national and international levels in recent years. Five consecutive years at the top of Germany’s private business schools in the WirtschaftsWoche ranking, inclusion in the QS World University Rankings 2026, and a top-5 placement in the SZ Institute’s “Best Private Universities 2026” ranking in the Business, Management & Entrepreneurship category. Added to this is AACSB accreditation, a seal of quality held by fewer than six percent of business schools worldwide.

The current result is therefore not a snapshot in time, but rather a reflection of consistent quality development over more than three decades. “The results of this year’s CHE Ranking confirm what Munich Business School stands for: the highest quality in teaching, a truly international focus, and a culture of support that assists students from day one. The positive feedback from our business administration bachelor’s students spurs us on to continue living up to this standard every day,” said Prof. Dr. Stefan Baldi, Dean of Munich Business School.
