Excellent Grades for International Orientation of the Bachelor and Master Programs – Global Top 25 Performer in “Student Mobility”

Munich, 8 June 2018 – According to the independent global university ranking U-Multirank 2018, Munich Business School (MBS) is Germany’s best private university of applied sciences in “Business Studies” – thereby maintaining the top position of last year’s ranking. The Bachelor and Master programs were awarded top ratings in “International Orientation”. On top of that, MBS is again ranked amongst the “Top 25 Performing Universities in Student Mobility” on a global scale.

Since 2014, U-Multirank, the biggest global university ranking, has evaluated universities in the five categories “Teaching & Learning”, “Research”, “Knowledge Transfer”, “International Orientation”, and “Regional Commitment”. In its current fifth edition, the ranking experts examined and rated 1,614 universities in 95 countries. In the “Business Studies” subject area, 493 universities were assessed, amongst them 46 German ones. The evaluation also included the results of a students’ survey with over 100,000 participants.

MBS Is Again Germany’s Best Private University of Applied Sciences in “Business Studies”

In the overall evaluation, taking into account all ranking criteria, MBS achieved an excellent first place among all private German universities of applied sciences offering business administration study programs – a feat MBS had already achieved in last year’s ranking.

“We are very proud of our great result in the current U-Multirank university ranking. The good positions of recent years confirm the consistently high quality of our study programs. We will continue to work hard to maintain this level and to improve further,” says Prof. Dr. Stefan Baldi, Dean of Munich Business School.

Top Ratings for International Orientation of Bachelor and Master Programs

U-Multirank awarded top ratings to the international orientation of MBS’s Bachelor and Master programs. In this context, the Bachelor International Business program achieved 10 of 13 points, the Master programs even won 12 of 13 points.

In total, MBS took the eighth rank amongst German universities (public as well as private universities and universities of applied sciences) in the “International Orientation” category – representing the top position amongst private universities of applied sciences.

“We traditionally attach great importance to the international orientation of our study programs. We are therefore delighted that the U-Multirank experts have rated this aspect particularly highly. Our goal will continue to be to prepare our students as well as possible for their future careers in the international business world,” says Prof. Dr. Stefan Baldi about the good result.

Global Top 25 Performer in Student Mobility

Already for the third year in a row, MBS is ranked amongst the “Top 25 Performing Universities in Student Mobility”. According to the U-Multirank experts, having “an international student body and offering students the opportunity to study part of their degree programme abroad is an indication of the international orientation of a university. In order to provide a full picture of mobility and international exchange U-Multirank takes into account both incoming and outgoing mobility.”

Students Award Good Ratings for „Teaching & Learning“

In the “Teaching & Learning” category, the results of a students’ survey with over 100,000 participants were taken into account. The students had been interviewed with regards to the quality of courses and teaching, their learning experience, and the practical orientation of the courses, amongst others. MBS students rated their university with “good” in seven of eight criteria.

Comprehensive Evaluation of Universities

U-Multirank is the first international university ranking that – through its multidimensional approach – attempts to draw a picture of the examined universities that is as comprehensive as possible. To come to results, U-Multirank bundles data from several sources, inter alia from bibliometric and international patent data bases, university data and the data of an extensive student survey. U-Multirank is subsidized by the European Union.
