Knut Föckler


Prof. Knut Foeckler is an internationally renowned marketing and media expert. He was Managing Director Marketing of Philip Morris GmbH in Munich. During that period he produced various advertising commercials with the renowned Hollywood film director and producer Tony Scott, who encouraged him to embark on a career in the movie and TV industry: He served the Munich based KirchGroup as Executive Vice President Production, and he held the position of Head of Program and Director Marketing at the German broadcaster SAT.1. Thereafter he took on the position as Head of Microsoft Network (MSN) Germany and subsequently he became Executive Vice President of Deutsche Telekom AG and head of its multimedia division.

Mid 2000 he quit corporate life and founded his own consulting business under the label newturn. The focus of his consulting service is on TV-Broadcast, (converging) media, marketing and brand strategy. 2004 saw the launch of terranova, a Free TV documentary broadcast station under his consultancy. 2008 he conceptualized a worldwide communication and webTV platform for the World Trade Center Association (WTCA), just to name two projects. Foeckler also works as a coach for business executives in the media sector.

Keen always to share his knowledge, Foeckler has in addition to his business career taught as a professor for Design at the Cologne International School of Design (KISD) as well as lecturing at the University for Television and Film (HFF) in Munich, and receiving honorary professorships at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and at the Freie Universitaet Berlin (FU) teaching Marketing and New Media.

He teaches New Media at the MBS / Munich Business School, and he is a member of the advisory board for Post-Graduate-Studies EMBE HSG / Executive Master of Business Engineering (Change Management) at the HSG / University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
