Prof. Dr. Florian W. Bartholomae studied economics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich and graduated in 2005 with a degree in economics. In 2011, he received his doctorate with a dissertation on the development of international trade from the Faculty of Economics and Organizational Sciences at the Bundeswehr University Munich. In June 2018, he successfully completed his habilitation project on the topic "Economic Effects of Recent Social and Technological Developments" and thus acquired the teaching qualification for the subject area "Economics".
His research interests include the economics of the information society, industrial organization, regional economics and trade theory. He has written several scientific publications in these fields, which he presented at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. On behalf of various institutions, he has written a number of regional economic studies, such as the evaluation of the central places system in Bavaria.
Prof. Dr. Florian W. Bartholomae is a associate Professor at the Bundeswehr University Munich and a partner of the political consultancy Bartholomae & Schoenberg Partnerschaft. Since 2018 he is Professor of Economics at Munich Business School.
