Women in Leadership

Women in Leadership@MBS

“There is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women and girls." (Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan)
The goal of the MBS initiative Women in Leadership is to connect and support (future) women leaders at MBS within a strong network of students, faculty, professional staff, alumni and supporting companies and organisations. With this aim, we build a strong and authentic community, which wants to work for a more equitable and gender-mindful business world and is passionate about creating a diverse and open workforce.

Female Leadership Lounge initiative

Would you like to have the unique opportunity as female MBS student to continuously exchange ideas with two very successful female C-level executives and benefit from their vast experiences? Would you like to learn what opportunities you have to develop yourself further - both professionally and personally - whilst remaining true to yourself and be authentic?

The Female Leadership Lounge is a regular exchange with female C-level role models from international companies such as Microsoft, Ernst&Young, Siemens or Allianz.

The Initiative

Connect and Support

We build a network

  • that is open to authentic exchange, inspiration and advice so that MBS females can learn and benefit from each other
  • that connects MBS future female leaders with inspiring personalities from business, university and society
  • that accompanies and advances everyone through their personal career steps.

Develop and Grow

We offer events where MBS future female leaders

  • are enabled to reflect, expand and develop their personal strengths and potential
  • are able to develop and strengthen their leadership competencies and career opportunities
  • show, how to succeed through educational, professional and social activities
  • reflect different development opportunities through inspiring role models.

Strive to change

We are convinced that our MBS future female leaders develop food for thought and implement activities that

  • challenge the gender status quo
  • create solutions for the diversity challenges of the future
  • realize a more equitable and gender-mindful business world and
  • become future female thought leaders.
  • make an impact in the world

What others say about MBS Women in Leadership

Anna Kopp
Anna Kopp

CSE Director Germany, Microsoft. My advice to everyone in the MBS Women in Leadership Initiative: Be nice to your fellow men, no matter what position they hold.

Everyone prefers to work with nice and friendly people. Network with many different people and show initiative. Show passion. If something is really important to you, be persistent, it will pay off. And: I will be back; I like the international spirit here at Munich Business School.

Founder & CEO of the Mission Female career network. Women in leadership positions need strong business relationships and sparring partners for a binding and personal exchange at eye level.

I think it's great to see how women at Mission Female and Women in Leadership@MBS strengthen each other and advance professionally. Instead of individual struggle, the motto can only be: #strongertogether

Vanessa Brandl
Vanessa Brandl

Student Bachelor International Business. Through networking events and lectures as part of the 'Women in Leadership' series, I got to know interesting female personalities and role models.

I also learned a lot about my own behaviour as a woman and my future role as a female leader.

Student MBA General Management. As MBA student, it is particularly important for me to exchange views with others on topics relating to women in management positions.

This way I get to know other perspectives that I can bring to my professional life. The MBS Women in Leadership Initiative is a wonderful opportunity for this.

Revenue Acceleration Lead - Large Publisher Solutions, DACH,  #IamRemarkable Site Lead, ex Diversity Ambassador. It is crucial that women are able to present their achievements in the workplace and beyond with confidence.

To be aware of this again and again and to practice this is an important point both in our Google ‘Iamremarkable’ workshops and at the MBS Women in Leadership, which is why I am happy to support the female students at MBS here.

Prof. Dr. Stefan Baldi
Prof. Dr. Stefan Baldi

Dean of Munich Business School. The MBS Women in Leadership activities clearly show that diversity is a particularly important topic at Munich Business School.

It reflects our values ‘innovative’ and ‘responsible’ in a special way and underscores the fact that we pursue a holistic approach in our education.
